An RPG that was originally planned to be released in 7 parts of which only 2 were released. The City and the Dungeon. This part the city tells the story of how you are captured by aliens who transport you to their ship. You wake up in front of a portal ... when you walk through it your character stats are determined and you can start your adventure in the city. Make sure to stock up on food, water and if possible a weapon before you start exploring the big city. Especially at night it's a dangerous place with thieves and monsters. Good luck.
The PC version lacks a lot of features that the Atari and even the C64 version had, but still it's a great game in it's own right. It's different from the Atari 800 version in the following ways :
Much less impressive graphics. No change of night and day for instance. Very low color palette.
Barely any 'music' if what you hear can be called music at all. Some minor sound effects are done.
Some of the inner workings have been simplified, AR is by nature an extremely complex game.
The nice classic font was removed. Everything is now in a standard font.
In this PC version, it's possible to get a JOB to earn money. This was not possible in any other version. it makes starting a new character a lot easier as you won't have to fight for every cent of your survival.
