At new years night itself, I was actually playing poker once again. My wife and I were feeling a bit sick so we stayed home and watched a movie. After the movie and a bottle of wine, we decided to play some online poker. I started a $5, SNG on Full Tilt Poker with 45man. I proceeded to play like god, run like god and took the whole thing down for $85 ! I knew I was at the top of my game when I folded QQ pre flop and my opponent showed KK. I don't think I have ever folded QQ pre flop before and think this is a huge jump in my game.
I went to bed and the next day I tried my luck at the tables again ... I was actually waiting for my wife to finish something so I started what I thought was a quick game, a $2 SNG with 27 people. I played very aggressively in the beginning, pushing when I had a decent draw and getting lucky. But the real play came at the final table where I actually entered as one of the short stacks. I nursed my short stack like it was my little baby. I won a race with AQ against JJ which got me back into the game. After this, the biggest hands I won were when I managed to trap someone.
With only 4 players left, I thought there was not much danger in slow playing my big hands. Especially since the other stacks seemed to be playing a little over aggressively. I guess most $2 players don't have much experience in the final table / end game. And so I took this one down as well.
