Another day, another dollar

It was a saturday afternoon when I logged onto my favorite poker room and saw there was a $1 tournament starting in a few minutes. I didn't have any plans for saturday anyway ... Perfect i thought to myself as I registered just in time for the tournament. The total number of players was just under 2800, quite a large field. Making it to the final table in these large fields means playing for at least 5 hours, maybe even more. I was ready for a long haul. I played really tight in the beginning, as I always do in these low buy in tournaments. Never try to bluff the donkeys ! The first 10 minutes past and we hit the second blind level. This is when I got hold of QQ and doubled up through a donk that called my pre flop raise with A6. Another few double ups along the way brought me to a comfortable 10k in chips. People were dropping like flies by now with the blinds at 100/200, leaving the last 500 players to fight their way to the money. 450 places would pay out, and my 10k in chips was as good as guaranteed to bring me past the bubble. I did indeed manage to pass the bubble, but then 2 hands after each other I got JJ and QQ and both didn't hold up. I made a dollar in profits ....

Another day, another dollar.
