Walker Poker is a huge aquarium

I have been playing some tournaments and sit and go's on Walker Poker (http://www.freepokerbankrolls.com/free-bankroll-offers/50-free-bankrolls-for-walker-poker-from-poker-space.html) lately and have found these games to be extremely weak on there. The place is an absolute fishtank for 'sharks like me'.free bankroll (http://www.freepokerbankrolls.com) of $50 and now have $175 in my account.I hope there won't be too many sharks joining the site now that I've revealed this news ... I quite enjoy taking candy from the babies :)Apart from this, the site is just loads of fun with all the smileys you can use. When you type things like 'donkey', or 'violin', you get a nice little animation so you can make fun of how bad the donks are playing. Don't tell them what it is exactly they are doing wrong of course, that would be wrong ! I'm going to keep taking their money and soon I should be able to move up in stakes.I'll keep you all posted !

It sucks to be bubble boy

I was playing another tourney on Full Tilt today and ended up being the bubble boy. Now, it ALWAYS hurts to be the one just out of the money bubble, but this time it sucked even harder and I'll tell you why.I've started playing on Full Tilt poker instead of Pokerstars because the tournaments are usually a LOT smaller on FTP. It's almost impossible to find a low stakes tournament on PS that doesn't have a few thousand players is it. I like tournaments with 2 or 300 players, this way the tourney won't last forever like they do on PS. But today I thought it was a good idea to step slightly above my bankroll limitation and also play a slightly bigger tourney. I was feeling very good about my game lately even though I have not had any major cashes, I seem to be doing everything right lately. This also includes the few homegames I have had here in the past few weeks were I have made 1st and 2nd place recently. So I fired up a $5 tourney and this had slightly more players then usual, 450 this time. So when the game was down to the last 46 players after 2 and a half hour of play, I was happy to see the money in sight. Before I was that far however, I got moved to a table with absolutley horrible players.Example : I had about 30k left and the blinds were 300/600 with antes when I got handed AK, I thought this would be the hand I bust out for sure when I saw a big stack on the button call my raise to 1499 (My trademarked $1 discount raise). The flop came all babies and I fired out a continuation bet of like 2500, which he called. I thought he might have some kind of straight or flush draw, so when the turn didnt complete that (and missed me too), I fired another barrel of around 5k which he called. At this point I was done with the hand and thought he must have something like 2 pair or trips and is waiting for me to bluff my stack off. The river was an innocent 7 but we both checked and he showed A7o. He called me down all the way with ace high and got lucky on the river. Some hands later, I'm on the button and I decide it's a good spot to try a bluff. I had told the guy he was an idiot for calling me down with ace high and I would have a pair next time ... So I raise with 85 offsuit (it seemed like a good idea at the time) and he calls out of position. The flop was something like 569 rainbow and he checks it to me. I decide my pair and the gut shot is all I need to bluff here, so I put about half my stack in. He calls. The turn is a K, he checks I bet, he calls. Daaamn I think ... what is it this time ... he must have a least a pair here, he can't be doing this with ace high again, so when he checks it to me on the river, I check behind, only to find out bottom pair is actually good against this guy and I'm back on 40k !!This guy was not the only one playing this bad at the table, but apparantly I didn't pay good enough attention because when it got down to 46 players, I got 1010 and went broke on a 9762 board when someone showed me 99 for a set. The dude also had me outchipped so he made me the bubble boy of the tournament .... what a sad story.

The New XBOX Experience

Or NXE as its called, is the new update from MS to the XBOX 360 console. It is a major update with lots of new features. You can now install games to the HDD of the XBOX, allowing for quicker loadtimes and more silent operation of the box during play. It also allows you to create an avatar for your gamertag. This is a lot more fun then the old 'gamerpics' we used to have. I'm hoping one day we will be able to use the Live vision camera to enhance this avatar even further !! That would be really cool.So for everyone to enjoy, I've put my gamertag on this page (left column) and my avatar right here ... doesn't he look mean ??? ps: While I was at it, I created a little Live Space as well :Acehighness goes live !
Picture galleries updated

Well, the picture gallery had been enabled on the site a long time ago, mainly to post the 'Poker Pros' pictures we took in Las Vegas this year. But since i had some spare time this week I thought it would be nice to post some pictures of parties and other stuff from years ago ... Some of this is really nice to see after such a long time ... we've all grown quite a but older since these were taken (4 years or more ago !) ...
WSOP 2008: The November 9

I've been watching the WSOP 2008 coverage from ESPN the last few weeks with great interrest. Not only because I was in Las Vegas at the time of the event, but also because I'm familiar with a lot more of the names now and I saw a lot of big name pros getting quite far in the event. I would have loved to see a big name pro at the final table but I guess we will have to do with Chino Reem. Chino is a likable character and a very good player from what I've seen, so I'm happy to see he made the final table with a decent chip stack. The other players at the final table are all amateurs and semi pros, I really hope this year will be the real comeback of the pros. This would really show that poker IS a game of skill, not just a gambling game like blackjack or roulette. That, in turn, could help turn around the 'Unlawfull internet gambling act' that was enforced in the USA this year.... I don't agree with that law and really hope for the US players' sake it will get changed now that Obama is leading the pack over there.
